“Due to a knee injury my mobility was limited for over 6 months before I met Michelle at a local trade show. Dependant on a brace and cane I was willing to try anything that could help me walk normal again. This led me to starting Watsu®. I had no idea what to expect but I went in with an open mind. Being dependant on a cane for so long I had developed a limp and wasn’t able to walk properly. After my first session in the warm pool I knew it was helping, together we retrained my legs to walk. With Michelle’s ongoing help I have regained my movement, expanded my range of motion and am now able to walk unassisted, something I feared would never happen. As I live out of town, these sounded like a great opportunity to recharge on my lunch hours, and they were. Next, I tried out a Water Stretching evening session, which got me hooked on the pool. That was followed by several life changing Watsu® sessions. My chronic pain has improved 90% as a result of being able to relax and let my body be moved into alignment. “I tore my rotator cuff years ago and have re-injured it a few times since. People always say the older you are the more difficult your recovery is; but I have to disagree. I think the recovery path you choose determines how difficult it is. This time I sought the help of Michelle and her combination of Watsu® and her background in OT has made this my best recovery yet. The gentle stretching and movement in the warm pool quickly helped me regain my mobility. The stretches she suggested for outside of the pool were ones that fit into my daily workout and routine allowing for normal movement and gentle use. I am approximately 8 weeks post injury. I have been pain-free for about 5 weeks now and am slowly starting to add weights back into my workout and feel great. This has been my best recovery so far and I’m confident that it will continue to regain strength at a moderate pace.”
